Read it... but it goes a bit over my head, Seems to confirm my worst fears about Macs too. Very reliable until they aren't
The concise version is that what I need is a computer that can record TV, display movies that I download off the internet, and play MP3s (say when I download BSG episodes). I also enjoy looking at my photos and I'd like to be able to access flickr from there too, but it's not essential. And I need to control it through a low resolution TV from the comfort of the sofa. That's the biggy.
But Apple just don't have a solution, and there are some Mac products that would claim to give you that but they are not reliable and not very friendly.
Where as, hate them all you like, Microsoft do have a solution and it works really really well. Okay the Vista version is a bit iffy on this hardware, and the XP version looks dated now, but it just works.
